Disney World Non-Ride Activities We Loved!

Disney World is full of amazing rides, but sometimes you need a break to skip the lines and have some old fashioned fun! Before leaving on our trip, I researched a few options for when the boys needed a break from standing patiently in lines and the sunshine. I’m so glad I did! These were our favorites:

Casey Jr.’s Splash and Soak Station - Magic Kingdom

It was HOT HOT HOT in Disney World and a break in the splash pad was just what we needed! Casey Jr.’s Splash and Soak is a train themed splash pad right across from the Barnstormer at Magic Kingdom. It’s a large space that we’ve never seen crowded and there’s even shade fro the parents!

Droid Depot Build Your Own Droid - Hollywood Studios

You do have to reserve this one in advance, but it was SO worth it if you have a Star Wars fan in your house. Star Wars is one of the first movies Graham loved and building his own R2D2 was such a blast for him. He couldn’t stop smiling! And yes, the robots you make and bring home with you actually work!

The Boneyard - Animal Kingdom

Looking for the coolest playground ever? The Boneyard at Animal Kingdom is it! This HUGE playground has climbing structures, fake caves, a toddler area, and huge tube slides for older kids. They even have Cast Members at the entrance to ensure that no kids over 10 enter so you know it won’t get too wild!

Frontierland Activities, Free Disney World Activity, Favorite Disney World Tips

Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade - Magic Kingdom

This is a free activity that basically never has a wait, which is such a win. This old school arcade game is programmed to free play so your littles can go crazy! We loved this pot for taking a break from the heat and burning up time while we waited for our next Lightning Lane time. This arcade stop is right by Big Thunder Mountain so it’s a great stop before or after that ride.

Tom Sawyer’s Island - Magic Kingdom

This super easy adventure is the perfect line-free activity for toddlers. Our boys loved it so much that Graham cried when it was time to leave. You take a boat over to the island in Frontierland and can spend as much time as you’d like exploring the caves, fort, and rope bridge!
