D’Agostino’s Kids Birthday Party Review

2 of our 3 kiddos have winter birthdays so we’re always on the hunt for a fun (semi-affordable) place to host kids birthday parties in Chicago. We’ve done Altitude Trampoline, American Girl Doll Restaurant, Bowling, Windy City Fieldhouse, and a few play spaces that unfortunately are no longer around! For Payton’s 5th birthday, we wanted to find a spot where we could invite the whole class, include siblings, and have space for our friends and their kids too! We had been to a few parties at D’Agostino’s and knew it would be the perfect space for what we needed!

D'Agostino’s in Wrigleyville has a large basement that you can rent out for $200 for 2 hours. They allow you time before and after to set up and pack up as well. They have packages for kid’s parties where the kids can make their own pizzas for $20/kid and includes an apron and hat for the kids to wear while they’re making the pizza. We chose this for Payton’s party because it entertains the kids for a bit and feeds them. They also offer a decorate your own cupcake or build your own sundae bar for $2/child which I wish we had done! It would have been more cost effective than bringing in our own desserts and I think the kids would have had fun!

Since we were dealing with 42 3-8 year olds, we knew we needed more than just pizza for entertainment so we hired these amazing entertainers we used at our block party to do a magic show and create balloon animals for the kids while their pizzas were cooking. Melissa and Liga are amazing and the kids LOVED them! It was $230 for an hour and a half of magic and balloon animals. They are so energetic and kept the kids laughing and entertained so the parents could enjoy some drinks and have some fun too! I highly recommend them for any kids party and they go all over Chicago and the suburbs. They are the best and most affordable kid’s birthday party entertainers I’ve seen in Chicago! I also brought some coloring books and markers and set up a baby/toddler area with blocks for the kids to entertain themselves as they were arriving which helped keep them from chasing each other like maniacs the whole time.

We included parents as well since no one wants a drop off party with that many 4 and 5 year olds. D’Agostino’s makes it easy to order ahead of time for the adults and you can also choose packages if you prefer. The bartender and servers who were assigned to us for the party were so helpful and made the timing of everything go smoothly.

I loved that the space is already pretty cute so I didn’t have to do much in terms of decorating. I printed some cute signs, brought a few balloons, made budget friendly goodie bags, and called it a day! Once the party was over we just packed up her presents, our limited decorations, and some leftover food and the staff handled the rest of the clean up. It was such a great experience and I would absolutely host other parties there in the future!
