Blue Harbor Resort Review

We’ve been talking about planning a weekend away with the kids and Blue Harbor Resort came up. We loved it when we went 2 years ago and hope to go again soon now that Connor is old enough to enjoy it! The hotel itself is really pretty and bright. The drive from Chicago is a little over 2 hours which was perfect for our roadtrip-hating kiddos. We stayed in one of the Boathouse Suites which was perfect for our family of 5. There is a little alcove for the kids with bunk beds and it’s own TV so you can hang out past the kids going to bed which is a major win in my book. We tucked Connor’s pack n play in the alcove too! The rooms also have mini-fridges and microwaves which is amazing for traveling with kids.

There is a restaurant and bar at the resort as well as a snack bar in the waterpark area. They also have a little shop too in case you forgot anything. The resort is right on the lake and they have beautiful patios and outdoor activities but it was snowing while we were there so we sadly didn’t get to enjoy them.

The resort has an indoor mini golf course and arcade to keep the kiddos entertained once they’re tired of the indoor waterpark. When we went, our kids were 6,4, and 6 months so the size of the waterpark was perfect for us. It’s small enough that you can find a spot and hang out and see your kids from most areas. There are some big slides and little slides and splash pad areas for the smaller kids.

While we were there the waterpark didn’t open until 11 one of the days so went and checked out the Above and Beyond Children’s Museum in the downtown area of Sheboygan. It was just a short drive from the hotel and the kids loved it. Definitely recommend checking it out while you’re there! Admission was under $10/person and we spent a solid 2 hours exploring! The area surrounding the resort also has some shops and restaurants but we didn’t get to try any since it was offseason.

Overall, our stay was so much fun and the price was reasonable! We can’t wait to go back and make more memories!
