What to Buy a 5 year old for her Birthday

The birthday party circuit is strong these days and we’ve been going to a lot of 5 year old birthday parties. We love to find gifts the birthday girl will love and these are some of our favorites.

Vtech Kidizoom Creator Cam

This is one of the top gifts my now 7 year old son has ever received. He and all his friends love filming any activity they’re doing (thanks Youtube) and it will entertain them for hours. It has lots of cool features and even comes with a green screen blanket to make fun edited videos. It’s definitely in my rotation for gifts for 5 year old girls (and boys) and is something they don’t usually already have!

Becco Bags

We are OBSESSED with Becco Bags in our house. We’ve gifted them to countless kiddos and they (and their parents!) love them! The kiddos can change out to patches as often as they want creating a custom look every time. They have the belt bags, back packs, and overnight bags and you can interchange the patches as often as you want.

Squishmallows

I feel like Squishmallows are this generations Beanie Babies and I kind of hate it but my kids love them. Our parents had it way easier because Beanie Babies took up no space and here I am tripping over 15 GIGANTIC Squishmallows everyday. But, if you want to give a gift a 5 year old will love, a Squishmallow is an easy go to. Target and Amazon always have a good selection and Costco often has the large ones in store for a good price!

Polly Pocket

When I saw Polly Pockets come back I was THRILLED! My daughter had just turned 4 and we got her some for her birthday. She loved them so we proceeded to buy nearly every girl who turned 4 or 5 that year this amazing Polly Pocket Play Set. The little girls have all loved it and it fosters independent play which is a win in my book! I also love the smaller sets that fold into purses for on the go entertainment!

Pixobitz

My kids received these Pixobitz for Christmas and love playing with them, They fuse with water so they can create them on their own without adult help…another big win! The sets come with pieces to make a few creations and the replacements are super inexpensive.

Art Set

Anything to make art is a win in our house and these Art Sets are perfect for creating on the go. No matter how many markers, crayons, etc a little girl has, from what I’ve seen they can never have enough. We love taking the sets on trips/out to eat for easy clean up!

Foil Art

These foil art sets are the perfect gift for 5 year old girls (and boys) because they encourage creativity, can be used independently, and make a minimal mess! They come in a few different sets like dinos, princesses, and animals and each set has 10 picture canvases for hours of fun. Under $30 so the price is right!
