7 Random Things: Kim

2024 has kicked off pretty similar to the way 2024 ended, a few sick kids, some bad weather and an Instagram hiccup that left us stressed! But other than that I’m excited for the new year! I haven’t really made any true resolutions but I did the Mel Robbins Year in Review and it helped me realize what I want to Stop, Start, and Keep Doing this year. I want to Stop letting anxiety stop me from trying new things, Start incorporating self-care into my weekly routine, and Keep consistent with exercising 3 times per week. Highly recommend printing her guide out (it’s free!) and going through it! I especially loved the part where you look through your camera and write down 3 things from each month that were great/you loved. It was a really nice exercise to reflect on what mattered that year!

In other news Kyle and I have been hard at work on our styling clients and Etsy shop. We’ve also started working on some Canva trainings! Check out our new Insta profile here! We’ve loved growing our business with Canva and we’re excited to share more!

I saw Mean Girls last weekend and it was so much funnier than I expected! It was a great day date with girlfriends! It was the first movie I’ve seen in years that wasn’t a kid movie at the theaters and I felt like I’ve made it to a new level of parenthood, where escaping during the day with friends is now attainable!

What I’m Reading and Listening To…

Remarkably Bright Creatures - I read this for a book club and liked it more than I thought I would! The octopus part was a bit challenging for me but overall it was a good story.

None of This is True - This was my favorite book I’ve read in a long time! It’s a psychological thriller that keeps you guessing the whole time. Love love love.

The Woman in Me - I’m starting this one now and am excited to get into it! Kyle and I will be hosting a live Instagram Book Club in Feb and this is our first pick! Stay tuned for more details!

Dr. Death Season 4 - I’m a huge fan of the Dr. Death series (even if it’s massively disturbing!) and just started the new season, Black Magic.

7 Things I’m Loving Now

  1. Libby App - I’m kicking myself that I didn’t start using this app sooner. With the Libby app you can get Audible and Kindle books for free by signing up with your local library card, genius! Read on your Kindle or phone!

  2. Tucky - Kyle introduced me to the Tucky and I love it! Gives you the perfect tuck every time! I want to check out their stitchy for keeping your gaps in clothes closed perfectly without damaging anything!

  3. Snow Teeth Whitening - Kyle also introduced me to this teeth whitening system and it has been the best teeth whitening i’ve ever used. I’m on week 2 and my teeth are noticeably whiter!

  4. Versed Skin Mood Lighting - I feel like glowy skin is youthful skin so i’ve been on a quest to get glowy! I’ve been using the mood lighting on my skin after I’m done with my makeup and it really gives you that dewy look without looking shiny.

  5. Mediterranean Bowls - I’ve been on a tahini kick lately and have been eating Quinoa Bowls on repeat! Quick and easy and relatively healthy! I make this tahini dressing and this lemon quinoa and then add in shredded chicken, Trader Joe’s Tzatzki, feta, olives, and some roasted veggies. It is AMAZING and so filling.

  6. Free People Dupe Pullover - Our furnace stopped working when it was -12 outside and it was 42 inside the house. I put this cozy pullover on and was nice and cozy despite the temps! It comes in so many color options!

  7. Time Blocking - I’m a bit scatterbrained so I’ve been using time blocking to try and stay focused for blocks of time. I use a rough version of the Pomodoro Method combined with the Ivy Lee method to keep productive! This little timer keeps me on task!
