7 Random Things: Kyle

Hi friends! I’m still here! Anyone else feel like the back to school adjustment is still adjusting? I feel like I’m treading water on the daily just trying to get by! True life, I am writing this as I sit in the Dunkin’ parking lot while Tucker naps in his car seat and I enjoy a cold foam coffee. Just making it work over here!

The big news over here is that Graham started Kindergarten and I’ve officially over-committed myself in life. I decided to volunteer to be Graham’s room mom, help with social media/marketing for a women’s volunteer group I’m in, and help plan the yearly auction at G’s school all in the last few weeks—I think I subconsciously agreed to 1,000,000 responsibilities as a coping mechanism for accepting that I have a kindergartner! I’m also almost done training for a half-marathon at the end of the month and I’m so proud of myself! I am NOT naturally a runner/inherently enjoy running so this has been a great challenge. I have an amazing group of women from my gym that I’m running with so it’s been so therapeutic to run together and get to know some friends even better. I ran 11 MILES!!! by myself earlier this week, which was a huge milestone for me. We’ll see if I keep up the running after the race!

On the MOAT side of things, I am LOVING styling so many of you!! Kim and I have been busying styling clients for vacations, family photos, and mom life. Shoppable is also so therapeutic for me so it’s been such a great way to turn a hobby into a little side hustle. I also put together my first Capsule Wardrobe Guide! This is a shoppable lookbook that has over 126 outfits! I’m hopeful this lookbook will be helpful for everyone as we head into winter and fall.

Make it stand out

This shoppable Fall + Winter Capsule Wardrobe includes a formula for building a versatile capsule wardrobe and SO many ways to mix and match the items. You can purchase it here. It’s a steal!

What I’m Reading, Watching, and Listening To….

  • Our book club book this month was House of Eve. I really enjoyed it! If you’re into historical fiction, you’d definitely like it and it has a ton of themes that will be easy to discuss over wine and cheese at book club!

  • The Fourth Wing — OBSESSED WITH THIS!! If you were a Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Game of Thrones, Twilight fan this book is for you! It’s technically young adult, but I found a lot of the themes to be very adult. 10/10 recommend!

  • Love Island USA - Sorry, not sorry I get so addicted to Love Island! Anyone else watching? I purchased Peacock purely to watch the new Love Island season. I’ve been creeping the couples on Instagram and I’m so thrilled so many are still together! This show is so absurd yet somehow so effective at matchmaking?!

  • Michael Smerconish on POTUS - This is very nerdy, but I live in my car and like listening to daytime radio/news to stay sharp. If you have SIRIUS, I really enjoy Michael Smerconish in the AM because he has a very moderate approach to reporting the news/analyzing current events.

  • Red Web Podcast - If you’re into weird shit like me (I know, I’m really selling myself in this blog post), this is a great listen! Each episode dives into a strange phenomenon that can be anything from aliens to weird illnesses to dreams to conspiracy theories. It’s an easy toss on podcast that keeps you entertained!

7 Things I’m Loving…

  1. This Pullover - SO comfy and the details make me smile!!

  2. Cloudmonster Running Shoes - I’m running a half, but still want to be cute okay? I’ve been loving these for training! They’re definitely better if you have a higher arch and more narrow footbed.

  3. The Anytime You Drink Vitamin - Unlike Kim, I am not doing sober October and still swear by these vitamins before bed after I’ve had a few drinks! Johnny and I both think they really help!

  4. Bob Books - I know anything literacy related is controversial, but we recently got these books to help Graham with early reading skills and he LOVES them. I think they are really helping him recognize sounds and patterns!

  5. LMNT Hydration Sticks - I am SOLD on these! I’m horrible about drinking water and I am perpetually dehydrated and these have been a game changer for me. They are very salty so I mix them with 40 oz of water in my Simply Modern water bottle and it helps me drink so much more water. I also feel so much better!

  6. Face Cleanser - On my self-care journey I’ve been trying really hard to be better about washing my face. I was gifted this oil based face cleanser and I am actually obsessed! This cleanser gets all my makeup off without drying out my skin AND I just wipe it off with a wet towel (no wet hair before bed!). It’s also on sale right now!

  7. No. 1 Perfume - I’ve never been a big perfume person, but these rollers have changed my tune. I love how they give you a subtle scent without being overpowering. The roll on is so easy and they last FOREVER. This scent is a-m-a-z-i-n-g.

xoxo, Kyle
